Gymnopedie No. 1 — Eric Satie
DUET FOR VIBRAPHONE & TROMBONE
Satie’s Gymnopédies are widely considered a precursor to modern ambient music — simple, serene, and built on repetition. This arrangement of the first movement sets the melody for vibraphone and trombone, making it an ideal stepping stone for trombonists working on breath control, soft dynamics, and extended phrasing. The vibraphone provides chordal accompaniment while sharing in the melodic interplay.
