Luke performed as a snare drummer with Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012, Crossmen in 2013 and 2014, and The Cavaliers in 2015 and 2016, beginning his career in DCI at the age of 16.

Luke studied with Dr. Blake Tyson at the University of Central Arkansas for over two years. He then completed his bachelor’s degree as a student of Dr. Justin Bunting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. During his collegiate education, he gained experience performing with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and in chamber music settings such as percussion solos and small ensembles of varying instrumentation. In addition to his collegiate performance opportunities, Luke has performed professionally with the esteemed Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and the Hendrix Wind Ensemble.

Educationally, Luke has taught a multitude of private lessons students in the central Arkansas area since 2011. Currently, he is the battery coordinator for Lotus Percussion, Arkansas’ only independent indoor marching percussion ensemble. He has also taught as an orchestral percussion coach for Arkansas Youth Symphony Orchestra (AYSO). Luke also has taught in several percussion instructor positions at Little Rock area high schools. In addition, he has composed and arranged a variety of music for marching band battery percussion, chamber ensembles, and marching bands. Overall, Luke has developed a varied and well-rounded body of experience as a professional percussionist, and is a great candidate for any professional musician roles including as an educator, arranger, or performer.
